Episcopal Parishes Join 40th Annual Hunger Walk Run

On March 10, 2024, ECF will partner with the Atlanta Community Food Bank for the 40th Annual Hunger Walk Run. Episcopalians will walk, run, and raise funds to fight hunger in Georgia. “We are thrilled to celebrate this year’s milestone and the commitment that Episcopal parishes have consistently shown towards ending hunger,” said Lindsey Hardegree, ECF’s Executive Director.

Recently, ECF provided a grant of $21,500 to SafeHouse Ministries in Elberton. This grant was made possible through funds donated at the 2023 Hunger Walk Run. SafeHouse Ministries, in partnership with St. Alban’s Episcopal Church (Elberton), will use this capital funding towards renovating their space to accommodate a walk-in freezer. This will significantly increasing their capacity to provide meat and produce as a part of their food distribution services.

Registration for the 40th Annual Hunger Walk Run on March 10, 2024 is now open online. For information about the Hunger Walk Run visit ECFimpact.org/HWR or contact Lindsey Hardegree at LHardegree@episcopalatlanta.org.

Following Christ’s example and the tradition of The Episcopal Church, we partner with Episcopal communities in the Diocese of Atlanta by providing funding, leadership, and resources to enable Episcopalians to lift up people facing poverty and oppression and to achieve significant, long-lasting change in our communities.
